About Us
Mikarie Child Care Centre (Mikarie) is an inclusive, multi-award winning long day care centre situated in a tranquil, peaceful setting in Kirrawee. Our modern, purpose-built centre operates from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
We welcome all children, families and educators, and embrace and celebrate all cultures and diversity. We provide support to children of all abilities in their age appropriate room. We know that children of all abilities achieve the best outcomes when are included in all aspects of life.
We are driven to give each and every child the best possible start in life. Our vision and our purpose motivate us to ensure that all children are able to develop through play-based learning.
At Mikarie, we see every child as a unique individual with different needs and goals – we understand that not all children learn and develop the same way. All children are included and encouraged to participate in all of our programs.
The centre is in a good location with beautiful grounds, and the staff are very caring. The attitude that children should be able to share their learning together, regardless of their abilities, is one that I wanted my children to experience in their formative years.
We offer children aged 6 weeks to 6 years a safe and supportive environment and cater for up to 78 children each day.
Mikarie is an Aboriginal word for ‘depth’, which reflects our commitment to providing a deep and meaningful journey of high quality care and education. Our surroundings embrace the community’s diversity and honour the history of the Gweagal People of the Dharawal Nation.
