Pre WWII Vintage Car & Bike Show a Sunday Success

The ever popular Pre WWII Vintage Car and Bike Show drew strong crowds to Cronulla on Sunday 19 March 2016.

Spectators flocked to see an incredible selection of vintage cars and bikes worth millions of dollars, to admire spectacular vintage buses, as well as to ride the ‘Red Rattler’ vintage electric train. IMG 2646

The weather was kind following a week of rain and thousands of spectators came out to participate in what is one of the major fundraising events on Sylvanvale’s calendar.

Now in its third year, the annual show featured more than 40 pre-WWII vintage cars and motor-bikes, kids’ ac0tivities, stalls, music and food at Cronulla Plaza.

The ‘Red Rattler’ was a new edition to the show this year after a chance meeting between event director Ken Warburton and local resident, Howard Collins OBE, CEO of Sydney Trains. During the show the ‘‘Red Rattler’’ made four return shuttles from Cronulla train station to Sutherland and back.

Two vintage buses located at Peryman Square in Cronulla were also very popular.

The money raised on the day goes back to supporting people with a disability to reach their full potential. Event director Ken Warburton has a close connection with Sylvanvale as his family were founding members.

Special guests at the event included the Hon. Mark Speakman SC, MP, Member for Cronulla; Rob Mason, Chairman of Transport Heritage NSW; and Howard Collins OBE, CEO of Sydney Trains.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered and supported the event to help make it such a great success!
