Covid-19 Booster Vaccination - Sylvanvale Hubs

Dear Staff,

We are excited to announce that we have been working with Healthcare Australia and have now secured dates for two (2) vaccination hubs at Sylvanvale sites. These hubs will occur in February and are available for all Sylvanvale staff.

Booster vaccination hub dates are as follows:


Hillview Site - Katoomba
9, 10 February
Cooper Site – Birrong/Potts Hill
14, 15, 16 February

Who is eligible to receive a vaccination at a Sylvanvale hub?

The Australian Government has announced that COVID-19 vaccination boosters are now available for people 18 years of age or older who received their second dose of a COVID-19 vaccination more than four months ago. The Sylvanvale hubs are for all Supported Independent Living customers and all Sylvanvale staff.

How do I book?

Please note that on the booking system the question that asks – “Select your workplace” refers to the location of the hub you would like to book into.

Do not share this link or QR code with anyone else. The vaccination team will turn people away on the day who do not meet the criteria below: 

The recipient must be:

  • NDIS Participant
  • Staff of an NDIS Provider
  • Carers/Family of NDIS Participants
  • At least 4 months post 2nd dose.


When do I need to book by?

You have until all timeslots are booked out. Places are limited.


How soon after testing positive to COVID, can I receive the booster?

Anyone who has tested positive can receive their booster vaccination as soon as they are well again and displaying no COVID symptoms. There is no requirement to delay the booster vaccination, and 6 weeks post COVID infection is seen as a maximum time period under the public health order.


What if I already have my booster vaccination booked elsewhere?

We encourage you to take the first available booster vaccination option. If your existing booking is after the Sylvanvale hub dates, we encourage you to keep your booking until your Sylvanvale vaccination is complete, and then cancel your other appointments.


Can I book in for myself at a time when I’m rostered on a shift?

No. You can choose a location and time that suits you, but it must be in your own time.


Can I book in for myself when I am attending a vaccination hub to support a customer?

No. You will be required to support your customers through the vaccination and observation process at this time.


How long will the booster vaccination take?

You will need to arrive 15 mins before your scheduled booking time and allow a minimum of 30 mins time to cover the vaccination and post-vaccination observation time.


What do I need to bring?

  • Your booking confirmation email or SMS
  • Medicare card for the person to be vaccinated
  • Sylvanvale Employee ID and photo ID
  • Information about any medical conditions or medications
  • Information about any vaccinations in the last 14 days or any previous COVID-19 vaccines (brand, date) received


What do I need to do after the booster vaccination?

As with the initial double dose vaccinations, the COVID-19 booster vaccine has been mandated for all frontline health workers. This mandate applies to all Sylvanvale staff.


Please ensure you advise Sylvanvale that you have received your booster vaccination by providing your updated immunisation certificate to whs@sylvanvale.com.au.


We encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Getting the booster vaccination will protect yourself, our customers and help to protect the whole community. Please ensure you book in as soon as possible as places are limited.
