We are asking for the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) to make decisions regarding housing and support in 10 days. The 10-day time frame is in line with what the NDIA itself thinks is achievable. The NDIS website states that ‘Once we have all of your information we’ll review it and decide if you can get SDA. We’ll try to let you know our decision within 10 days’.
The evidence shows that the NDIA aspires to a 10-day turnaround, yet the reality is vastly different. The campaign is calling for an end to bureaucratic delays and for people with disability to receive appropriate, timely housing support.
Did you know? There are 1,100 NDIS participants stuck in hospital ready to be discharged, waiting for NDIS funding for disability housing, but 3,000 vacancies in disability housing.
