Birrong Landscaping Now Complete!
We’re delighted to advise that the significant landscaping improvements at our Supported Independent Living (SIL) site in Birrong are now officially complete – finishing on schedule at the end of October.
The common areas are now totally transformed and include a revamped spa area, welcoming walkways and stimulating water sensory area.
According to Site Manager David Collins, “It is now a much nicer, more calming and aesthetically pleasing environment.”
We’ve received great feedback from families, who have commented on how good it looks. Customers also really like using the new pathways that lead up to their villas. The spa area, which was once seldom-used, is now particularly popular.
The changes provide significant benefits for customers. Sensory gardens in particular have been found to generate countless benefits towards physical health and wellbeing, especially for people with a disability who have a range of complex support needs.
Were there any unexpected hiccups along the way? According to David, it all went very smoothly. “There was no impact on the customers. They adjusted really well.”
The site’s employees are very excited about the benefits the new landscaping is bringing to the people they support.
“The staff are thrilled to see customers making the most out of their new space – particularly the positive impact it’s having on their health and wellbeing,” said David.
