Vaccination Hubs Set Up At Sylvanvale Sites
700 People with disability and their disability support workers have received vaccinations at four vaccination hubs located at Sylvanvale sites in July. The hubs are the result of a collaboration between Sylvanvale, a disability service provider, and the Federal Government’s vaccine provider, Healthcare Australia.
The hubs are taking place during July and August at Sylvanvale locations in the Sutherland Shire, Blue Mountains, West and South Western Sydney. Sylvanvale staff and participants are all eligible to receive the vaccine at the hubs. Sylvanvale has also opened up the hubs up to other local disability service providers.
Sylvanvale CEO, Leanne Fretten, said: “Since the beginning of the pandemic, Sylvanvale has been working hard to reduce the risks posed by COVID-19. Safety is one of our key organisational values; ensuring that the people we support and our staff have access to the vaccine is another step to keeping our community safe.”
“For many of the people we support, our onsite vaccination hubs have the advantage of offering a less overwhelming environment for the administration of their vaccine. We are grateful to the Federal Government and Healthcare Australia for giving us the opportunity to have the hubs at our sites,” she continued.
