There are two significant reforms which underpin our mission.
These are the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with a Disability and the unified approach defined in the National Disability Strategy. We recognise that both the National Disability Strategy and the National Disability Insurance Scheme provide the framework and funding to provide for meaningful change for people with a disability, their families and carers.
We endorse these reforms and are committed to contributing to a community-wide shift in attitudes by:
ensuring, as far as practicable, that people with disability have the same rights to equality as all Australians, and;
advocating for people with a disability to experience full inclusion in social, economic, sporting and cultural life within their community.
Sylvanvale will continue to ensure our policies and practices deliver a service that is based on quality, human rights, equality and evidence-based service delivery.
