Support Coordination helps National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants make the most of their NDIS funds. It is funded by the NDIS.
Once a plan has been approved, participants work with Support Coordinators to determine how their funds will be spent and to connect with providers. Support Coordinators can also assist you with your plan review if the NDIS isn’t meeting your needs.
Not every participant is funded for Support Coordination, but everyone can ask for it.
How do I know if I have Support Coordination?
If your NDIS plan contains one of the following line items, you have Support Coordination funding.
Item Name and Notes
Support Coordination Level 1: Support Connection
Support Coordination Level 2: Coordination of Supports
Support Coordination Level 3: Specialist Support Coordination
How can I get Support Coordination if I don’t already have it?
If Support Coordination isn’t currently included in your NDIS plan, you will need to show the NDIS that you need some help to navigate the NDIS independently.
You can ask for Support Coordination by:
- Mentioning it in your NDIS planning meeting
- Requesting it in your plan review
- Applying for an Unscheduled Review to ask for Support Coordination.
