Sylvanvale has been working hard to address the high demand for good quality housing for people with disability in the Sutherland Shire.
We’ve made strong progress on our project to rezone and subdivide Mikarie Place. We are excited that Sutherland Shire Council recently approved our rezoning application for the land which our Head Office currently occupies at 2 Mikarie Place, Kirrawee.
We intend to use the proceeds of any future sale of the land to build further Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA), like at our recently completed properties in Bangor.
This would also require the relocation of the current Head Office to a more suitable non-residential location.
The Mikarie Child Care facility will continue to provide high quality integrated childcare services on the Garnet Rd site.
We are currently undertaking some capital works on the Mikarie Place site. These works include the movement of utilities and the demolition of some of the existing unused buildings on the Sylvanvale site. Completion is due in early September 2023. In the meantime, Sylvanvale Head Office and Mikarie Child Care Centre will continue to operate on their respective sites as normal.
