The housemates are independent, friendly and sociable.

  • Current housemates include women and men.
  • Housemates are all aged over 55.
  • Some housemates are verbal and some use gestures to communicate.
  • Each housemate has their own network, interests and activities that they pursue individually with the support of staff.
  • There are opportunities for housemates to socialise and engage in special events in the house and/or in the community if they choose to.
  • Staff take a Person Centred Active Support (PCAS) approach to ensure housemates are involved in their daily living and household activities.
  • There are authorised restrictive practices at this house as some housemates require additional support to stay safe.

Support Available

The property is staffed by a highly trained team who are committed to supporting supporting people with disability to live the life they choose.

  • Staff are trained in age-related and other competencies including dementia, epilepsy, mental health, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and person-centred active support (PCAS).
  • 24/7 support, including awake night support.
  • Access to a fully maintained modified vehicle, for transport within a 30km radius of the house (annual fee applies).
