PACE is here – the new NDIS computer system starts to roll out
The new National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) computer system, called PACE, has started to roll out to participants. The new system is part of changes the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) is making to improve the experience people have with the NDIS.
Below is some key information about the new system and what it means for NDIS participants and the people Sylvanvale supports.
A gradual roll-out of the new system
It is expected to take about 18 months for all participants to move to the new system.
Existing NDIS participants will move to the new system when you are close to your reassessment date, or when you ask for a change to your NDIS plan.
A new portal for participants
Participants will have access to a new portal when they move to the new system. Called my NDIS participant, the new portal is where you will be able to view your plan and track your budget. Watch this video about the new portal.
The my NDIS app has also been updated to work with the new system.
The new portal can be accessed through myGov. You will need to link the my NDIS participant portal to your myGov account.
Adding regular providers and giving consent
When you are ready to move to the new system, you can add your regular providers to your account. This will help streamline claims for the supports you receive. To add Sylvanvale as a regular provider, you can contact your NDIS contact or call the National Call Centre on 1800 800 110.
You can also give your consent for Sylvanvale to view relevant parts of your NDIS plan. This will help us to provide supports that achieve your goals.
New NDIS check-ins
Under the new system, NDIS plans will last longer – up to 3 years. NDIS check-ins with participants will take place every 12 months.
Your check-in will be with your my NDIS contact, who will ask how you are going with your NDIS plan and whether any changes are needed.
More information about the NDIS changes, and what to expect from the NDIS, can be found on the NDIS website.
